Great new item that features two great accomplishments of both the UK Basketball & Football programs. The "First to 2000" print for the basketball program and "Superior at Last" for football. "First to 2000" is an image from the 2009 North Carolina game and "Superior at Last" is a photo showing the two point conversion by Randall Cobb against South Carolina and Coach Spurrier. Framed item is 22 x23 with both mini prints and a UK coin. Framed as shown for $100!

Rerun, a non-profit Thoroughbred adoption program whose mission is to help ex-racehorses find a second career will be presenting a display of "Moneighs," painted by some of the greatest Thoroughbreds in racing. "Moneighs" are created by horses using their muzzle, tail and hooves to create their own special work of art. Money raised from the artwork help support ex-racehorses until they get placed with qualified adopters. Pictured below is Point Given with his finished "Moneigh." Included with the painting is a lock of hair, tied in a ribbon, and attached to the painting.

The excitement has begun and we are setting up this weekend for the Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event...we will be open Tuesday through Sunday...our 24th year there!!! It's so exciting, lots of work to move in, but well worth it as we get to see customers we only see once a year. Hope to see you there!

Today is the 40th anniversary of the birth of Secretariat...it is a good time to reflect on what a difference this horse made in the lives of all equine lovers. Our thoughts also go out to our dear friend, Penny Chenery, (owner of Secretariat) and what the new Secretariat movie release means to her and her family.

Tony Leonard is recognized as one of the greatest equine phototgraphers of all time. His story is on the front page of the Sunday Herald Leader. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tony & Adele and the struggles they are going through. We have sold Tony's prints for close to 30 years and worked with Tony throughout his career. Nothing was more special than having Tony & Penny Chenery (owner of Secretariat) appear together at our gallery for signings. Please read their story and offer your support..

Lexington will welcome back Penny Chenery (the owner of Secretariat and Riva Ridge) to Kentucky this Saturday, Feb. 27th, 2010 for the Central Kentucky Heart & Stroke Ball. She will be honored as a survivor of heart disease. Our respect and admiration for Penny is shared by so many others in Central Kentucky. She was one of the first women admitted to the Jockey Club and was president of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association. Plus, she was a dear friend to all of us here at the gallery and spent many years signing Secretariat prints with us at the Rolex Ky 3 Day Event. Watch for release of the new movie "Secretariat" in October by Disney. It will feature Diane Lane as Penny and John Malkovich as Lucien Lauren (Secretariat's trainer). Penny said the movie "is very kind to me and my family. The best possible outcome is that the movie will get more people aware of Thoroughbred racing and to see it as a glamorous and exciting sport and not just gambling." Penny now lives in Colorado with her family and it will be so wonderful to welcome her back home for awhile. We want to take this opportunity to thank you Penny, for being a treasure to all of us in the Bluegrass State.
